Dear Classmates of 1962

My husband Clem Mercer passed away from a massive stroke and blood clot to the heart Monday 8:00 AM Feb 05, 2007. Clem passed quickly and quietly at home in my arms. He and I were married for 31 wonderful years. He left behind 5 children, and 8 grandchildren. Clem had been suffering from Diabetes and Heart disease for several years. He had Angioplasty Surgery with 4 stints put into his heart in October of 2006.

He never really recovered from the operation, and progressively worsened over the last 4 months.

Here are some pictures of Clem fishing and his catch,(This is when he was most happy, on his boat and fishing). Clem and me at Monterey Ca., Clem and his dog while on vacation in Las Vegas, Grandpa and two of our beloved grandchildren Christmas Eve and Grandpa and our eldest grandson back from a fishing trip, Nov 2006 after his Surgery. You can see the decline of his health in the pics to the last one with Grandson (Anthony).

He was a very special, loving, kind, generous man, whom God took home much too early from his family.

Charlie I was in Tucson last week and I heard from two different people that Ron Rife had
passed away about three months ago. It was from a heart attack. I could not find out any other
information. I will leave it up to you if you want to put him in deceased list. It sure was
hot and humid in Tucson. Glad I live in a high desert.

So nice to hear from you. I do indeed remember you well. Who could forget one of the happiest kids at the school?

Assuming you do not object, I will put your email address in that listing and link this and any other emails that you send our way.

Ginny and I have been married for 33 years, have two daughters and one and a half grandchildren, with the other half arriving around the first of August. I spent 20 years in the Navy (24 if you include the academy), mostly nuclear power plant engineering, and have been consulting on nuclear engineering projects since 1986. Thinking about going back to school to start another career in business, specifically info technology, etc. Hard to imagine truly retiring.

Keep in touch, and we will all have a chance to get together in a couple of years.
