Your reunion actions and efforts will be pleased to know
that the class of 1963 is now planning a reunion of their own.
I was surprised to find that many other couples from
High School are still married to the same spouse. I thought I was
the only one I could remember that stayed married. I found out that
Karon Monrad, Ingred Echolme, Joe Franea, Mary Kay Ogden, are all
still married to there original mates. Isn't that great!
I saw Patsy Hand, Karen Monrad, and Ingred and a Janice Gibson, and Roger Carter at the planning meeting. All these are people from the class of 1963. Most are right here in Tucson, or at least Arizona.
Thought you'd be interested!
Roger
Yep. Listen to the music CD often. My favorite! Thanks again!
The class info CD I envision as having no particular limits as to content. Whatever people would like to have included is fine with me. The pages I did for Art Twomey that are already posted might give you some ideas. Family pictures, copies of family trees, a couple of resumes, voice and video clips, even essays and links to their other favorite Web pages/sites. Some people are not technically oriented, so they may not even want a data CD to put into a computer, but it would be good to give to their kids, etc.
Obviously, it would be easier on me if other classmates helped to develop the files and sent them to me to upload/integrate, but I can do some scanning and conversions myself. Just takes time, so the sooner the better. I would anticipate that if I got 10 classmates to take this seriously, it would be worth it. In any case, it would be neat to incorporate a lot of stuff on a CD and minimize any costly paper publications for the class reunion. There may even be someone else in the class that would like to take the CD project on since they know more about multi-media than I.
Off course, people can just download directly from the Internet and save the files if they want, even after the reunion. The CD would be a snapshot in time, and it may include additional items, depending on the inputs. Suggestions and ideas are welcome, of course.

I would personally be delighted to have interested members of other classes as well as significant others of deceased classmates, former teachers (if any are still alive) attend. If you would like to attend, just let the reunion committee know as we get closer, perhaps < reunion40@Technidigm.org >. I think you can also indicate this on classmates.com, although I do not know whether they have any cross-class block or anything.
Charlie
Your welcome, I knew you would like it He is the BEST i have heard.
Charlie, can the 63 people attend the reunion?
Roger
Roger,
You are right! I love it!
Best Carnival of Venice I've ever heard.
Thanks very much for going to the trouble of sending it to me!
Note that the '62 reunion will be (we think) on Sep 27th,
which is the homecoming date that was apparently recently decided on by
the school. I'll be updating the web page, http://technidigm.org/amphi62.htm

Wow:
Some names I remember very well: Rick Mellenger,
Glenn Ezell. And Shella McFerson, I went on a
date with her once! I think she played a
read instrument ..the sax I think. I think I'll e-mail her and see
if
she remembers me.
Charlie, I had the pleasure of hearing the greatest
trumpet player I have ever heard. Donna's cousin in
Tx. sent us a cd from Germany he collected.
His name is Vlado Kumpan and the cds title is Trompeten
Parade. I'm not much on spelling anyway
but that is how it was spelled in German. In any case this guy
makes W. Marcelles and Rafiell Mendez look like
wimps! Give me your home address and I'll send you a
copy cd.

Yes please do add me to the list for 62.
It sounds like you went through the USNs academy and became an officer. That's wonderful. If I had it all to do again it would definitely be the Navy and I would have liked to try for the same. I do remember the Enterprise fire. I remember reading about it.
I joined the Navy when I was a Junior in H.S. So two weeks after I graduated in 63 I already had my orders and boot camp out of the way. I had two years in the reserves. So I reported for transit in San Diego and later became the Log Room Yeoman aboard the USS ELDORADO AGC-11. On our tour over seas off the coast of Viet Nam Our two escorts the DD were fired on by the river boats. The Madox and Turner Joy. This was the action known as the Gulf of Tonkin incident. We never went anywhere without plenty of escort. We were the command ship with the two star admirals flag. AGC= Amphibious Group Communications
When I returned in 65 I went to work for Sears when they moved from Downtown to Park Mall. Then Burr Brown Research Corp. for seven years then 27 years for U. S. West Communications. Retired in Feb of 99.
Good to hear from you

Roger,
Thanks for checking in. I remember you well in the band, but I did not remember any of the details about your class. If you like, I can add your name to our list as an "honorary" member of the Class of '62 (a high honor, indeed!). At least you will be able to keep up with what we are doing and, possibly, get '63 going as well. It would be great to see you in conjunction with our reunion in 2002, an especially likely prospect since you live there in Tucson.
Yes, the band and the trumpet section (especially) were lots of fun. I played a soprano bugle in the Drum and Bugle Corps when I was at the Naval Academy ('62 - '66), as well as playing in their concert band. We even put together a band in 1975 for the commissioning of the nuclear powered aircraft carrier NIMITZ. President Ford gave the commissioning address, and I had a problem with the Secret Service since I did not follow some of their instructions (deliberately).
Lots of "sea stories" to share, some of which only Navy people can appreciate. I'll have to tell you about the fire we had on ENTERPRISE in '69 sometime.
Regards,
Charlie

I found your web page by following the conversations between you and Ted Wilson. Even though I was not of the class of 62 I remember everyone in it. I was held back from advancing in school in the 5th grade at L.M. Prince (next to Amphi Jr. High). I had transferred from Sacred Heart and so I knew many of the members of the class of 62. I later graduated from Amphi one year behind you in 63.
Anyway I caught the information that you are in Md. and also did a hitch in the USN. That's where I went when I left H.S. I did my hitch in the Navy and Loved every minute of it.
Congrats on your grandparenting. Doesn't seem possible ..all those years. I always looked up to you and your trumpet playing. I was first chair when you left but never got as good as you!
I just retired from 27 hard years at U.S. West Communications. egh! Lots of summer sunshine! I'm still in Tucson. My brother Don is also still here. He just retired from working at BHP. Formally known as good old Magma Copper at San Manuel Mine.
Good luck on the reunion. Your page is GREAT
