Dan,

Yes, I think you are right about providing a complete list since the list that we used for "missing addresses" and posted on the web site does not seem to include your name:  http://technidigm.org/contacts/needinfo.htm

The Class of '63 has a similar list at http://www.webreflections.org/amphi63reunion/  I think they also scanned in their yearbook pictures and posted them.  We have not had anyone volunteer to do that for our class.  I suppose most people find it a lot easier to just open their yearbook, but I assume some do not have it anymore.

I prefer to have individual pages for those who choose to be involved with the class at this point, and I have scanned hundreds of old and new pictures and posted them along with all of the email messages I received that contain relevant update information.  In many cases I have cropped and cleaned up the pictures to make them a bit better.  A good example of a classmate page is Jan (Jeannette Allen) Vecchio's page at http://technidigm.org/contacts/allenj.htm.  She has provided the most input to her page, including not only her songs but also one from her brother Mike Allen (deceased).  I also collected a lot of info on Art Twomey (deceased) and created a lengthy page for him as he was a good friend and our class valedictorian, if not our most famous classmate (http://technidigm.org/contacts/twomeya.htm).

We now have several reunion books, thanks greatly to those classmates who have worked so diligently on the various reunions over these 40 years.  I did post the 40th Reunion memory book on the web site: http://technidigm.org/contacts/images/reunion2002/update2002book/amphi62reunion2002bookindex.htm.  The pictures that were submitted for the hard copy were in some cases not well reproduced, so it was good to put them on the web site after improving the brightness and contrast.  I am pretty sure the class of 63 will do this as well since they seem to be building on our efforts in some areas and they seem to have a volunteer working on their site who is multi-media proficient.

At the time we posted our list of missing classmates, we thought we were doing the best we could, but I guess we only listed folks for whom Southwestern Reunion Planners could find no address at all.  I think they did send a query to the last known address, but I was not in that loop.  Maybe Nancy knows more about it.  I do know that anyone looking in the Internet for our class and reunion information could have found it by entering "amphi 1962 tucson" in their browser address or goto search engine.  Of course, not everyone is using the Internet, so other (harder) methods are needed to achieve contact perfection.

I am sorry that we somehow did not connect with you.  I am sure that there are others out there.  In any case, in preparation for the next reunion, please feel free to compile a more accurate/complete list, and I will post it.  I may or may not get around to it myself.  We have no shortage of ideas, but we are a bit short on helpers sometimes.   The list of current addresses that I have compiled is also on the web site at
http://technidigm.org/Reunion%20Admin/AddressLabels2003.htm

Keep in mind that some people who live in or near Tucson and knew about the reunion either did not come, had other plans, or minimized their participation by just dropping by for a few minutes.  A couple people were probably missed entirely in the many reunion snapshots that we collected and posted (http://technidigm.org/amphi62reunion2002.htm).

Best regards,
Charlie Jones

Yes, that was a mistake, we were/are the Class of '62.  I assumed that a name and year book picture was not privileged information.  I agree, everyone does not wish to have their history and whereabouts advertised.  That is only reasonable.  My thoughts were had all the names been listed it may have sparked memories and more people could have been tracked down.  The 1963 site had a complete class roster included in it's layout.  I have moved so much that I never attempted to stay in touch with anyone in particular.

I did return to Tucson in the late 80's and my younger daughter graduated from Amphi.  Otherwise, when ever possible, I have preferred to live in northern California.  Well, it was nice getting your prompt response.  I'm sure many have appreciated your efforts.

Sincerely,

Dan Torrey

Hi Dan!

I assume you mean the class of 62, although I know about the 63 reunion web site.

The class enlisted the services of a reunion company to try to track down the hard to find people and to help organize the 40th reunion.  We also checked the big classmate.com listings and send emails to all of our classmates periodically over the past 3 years.  Some responded, and many did not.  I even checked the classmate.com listings for those classes near ours and found a couple of other people who did not remember what year we graduated.

I only put people on the class webpage listing if they have communicated with me or otherwise connect with their current address/email info and/or other relevant information such that they seem to want to be included.  Unfortunately, some people may not want to be listed, and we try to avoid posting hearsay, especially regarding deaths.  There are lots of pictures from the reunion on the web site.

In any case, if you have current information on any of the folks you mentioned, please let me know, and I will contact them and start a communication page for them.  I will start a page for you next week when I get back to Maryland, if you like.  Feel free to email the folks listed on the web site. http://technidigm.org/amphi62.htm#classlist

Yes, we do hope that the list grows over the next five years.  Jack Curlin is also trying to get a 60 year old reunion going for next year.  Looks like it will be in October 2004.  http://technidigm.org/contacts/future.htm

Best regards,
Charlie Jones

Charlie:

I stumbled on to the Class of 1963 reunion web site by accident.  It was amazing what has become of the folks that were mentioned.  Shocking about some of those that are no longer with us.  This was the first reunion that no one had tracked me down, I have moved on the average of every three years since 1963.  That makes me hard to find.  Though I live in northern California, I happened to have been in Tucson on family business on the dates of the reunion.  Oh well.

Anyway, I noticed there were many classmates noted on the site that did not attend or otherwise responded.  How come many others were not on the class list?  For example: Richard Covey, Bill Coward, Gilbert Berry, Donnie Bridges, Keith Swenson and his twin sister, Craig Dotson, Terry Huff, Tom Shalvey (A Tucson businessman.) and myself.  I don't recall seeing any mention of Dean Metz, one of out favorite teachers.  Hopefully, in five years more will be tracked down.

Anyway, I'm glad to know there are many of our class have enjoyed a happy and healthy life.

All my best,

Dan Torrey
