Hi Charlie,

I am sorry to hear you won't be able to attend the reunion in October!!!  You have worked so hard on the website for all of us and it is appreciated by all!!!

I am curious , is there a list that shows the people who have said they are coming?  It may be on the website in plain sight BUT .....

I am sending you a website that is really great !!!  Hopefully , you might have a change in plans and we will see you at the reunion.  If not , enjoy this site and know that you will be missed

Hi Charlie,

I just wanted to send you my correct email and also to make sure you have my address. One thing I don't want to do is miss our upcoming reunion. Possibly someone will be able to explain to me how I got this old in years but still feel young ... LOL!

It will be so nice to see everyone.

Mary Lee,

Thanks for the note.  I do remember you, of course.  Thanks for the info on Chatty Wilmore Timmons!

I have sent an email to Jack Curlin to seek an update regarding his condition.  You are right, it has been a long time since we have heard from him, as well as anyone else.

So far, as far as I know, no one has started anything for the 45th reunion, which will be in 2007, of course, assuming that there is enough interest.  While the 40th reunion was really quite excellent, we had no central organization or leadership up front, other than what I managed to post on the (at that time) newly created web site, starting about a year ahead of the event.  Luckily, several people stepped up to take care of some of the details in the weeks/days just before we got together.

The fact that it worked out well with so little fuss early on perhaps indicates how easy it is to do, or possibly that we have some really good/talented classmates, but I think some of the folks who had done the majority of the work on reunions in the past were hoping that new blood would step up.  The Class of 1963 had a huge organization for their 40th and went to a lot of trouble with the planning, including lots of subcommittees to the reunion committee, and the results were pretty much about what we came up with doing minimal organizing and planning.  I think that the planning process for them was a bonus since it increased their class cohesiveness, at least for those of their classmates who live in Tucson.

For our class, with the additional wrinkle of the 60th birthday get together that we had, there may be even less of a yearning to step up and do something in 2007 since it is only 3 years since that event.  Yet it is really not very hard to do these things, once a few people step forward to lay out the basics.  We even had a reunion planning company do some of the work for the 40th, although I am not sure that was particularly beneficial.  Others would have a better notion of that than I.

The really far out-of-town folks such as those of us who live on the East Coast mostly did not make it to the 60th birthday reunion event, so we are perhaps more motivated to attend the 45th reunion.  This, of course, means that the most interested people for the 45th are the least likely ones to volunteer to do the planning and organizing since they live so far away and do not have the luxurary of checking things out personally.

On the more positive side, I suspect more people are now retired and collecting Social Security (not me, yet), so they may have more time on their hands.   Expressions of interest such as yours will do a lot to start the wheels turning for the 45th reunion!

Best regards,
Charlie

Hi Charlie,

I don't know if you remember me, a fellow classmate, Mary Lee Whiteman (now Erdman). After all, it has been a LONG time. LOL

My most important question is about Jack Curlin. I used to hear from him at least 2-3 times a month but I have heard nothing since October. He is in my daily prayers, but I am quite concerned about his health and as you can tell I am a "bit" chicken to actually write him. He always had such interesting, uplifting and funny emails.

Do you know if there is any reunion in the planning stage?  I had never been able to go to one except the 60th Birthday one and I DON'T plan on ever missing one again.

I saw Chatty (Wilmore) Timmons about 6 weeks ago . She was here to see her sisters. I don't know if you have her address or not, but I am sending it to you. She did not give me an email.

Hope all is well with you and yours. Have a special holiday season!!

If there is some problem ,please e-mail my husband Dave Erdman at pgfx AT theriver.com. I am really looking forward to this weekend.
